The Songs Don’t Remain The Same

The Site is evolving, and the songs are expanding. MySpace is myspacing. And the songs are starting to get heard. Perhaps you are listening. Perhaps you are not. If you are, then I thank you. If you are not, that’s not a problem. I understand. There is more music on this planet than any one human couuld possibly hear in a lifetime. However, I hope you do listen.

I hope you will participate. It’s interaction. It’s not passive. Music isn’t about and staying, like a boulder left behind on a desert path. It’s about that rushing water that placed it there. It’s about that sand that beats it day in and day out, and reshapes and forms it. It’s about the wind that strips the colors from greys to browns to black to red creating pivots and cracks in that stone until there are well worn and softend corners in that hardened bit of clay. It’s the way that boulder forms a shady area, a resting place for a lizard left thirsting in the Mojave sun. It’s the way that boulder hides the bones of the same creature years from now, after he succumbs to the harsh winter of the January frost. Each day, each hour, each note, each tone, each rest, each asyncopated beat– each congruency and dischord phasing in and out of time becomes the music, just as each moment of life and death surrounding the desert becomes part of the experience of the stone that makes up that boulder in the Nevada sun.
